Preschool Swim Lessons
The Preschool Lessons have three levels of progressive instruction. On the first day of each session, all participants are tested and assigned to stations equivalent to their ability. Preschool lessons are 8 days with a class length of 30 minutes. The first week runs Monday through Friday, and the second week runs Monday through Wednesday. Ratio is 1 instructor for every 5 participants.
Youth Swim Lessons
The Youth Lessons follow a station method of instruction. Students are tested the first day and placed in one of the seven skill levels. Students will be taught skills needed to progress into successful swimmers. Youth lessons are 8 days with a class length of 45 minutes. The first week runs Monday through Friday, and the second week runs Monday through Wednesday. Ratio is 1 instructor for every 6 participants.
Parent and Tot Swim Lessons
This class gives orientation to the water and provides the means for the child to develop balance, coordination, and strength. The class is designed for parent and child to work together under the instructor’s supervision. Please note: One child per parent. Six classes.
Private Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons are the ideal lessons for children who need one-on-one instruction. Private lessons follow the same station method of group lessons which build upon skills as the participants
develops. Participants will be taught the skills needed to progress into successful swimmers. Private swim lessons are 30 minutes. The same instructor is guaranteed for days signed up for each two
week session. Registration for private lessons is accepted online or in person at the Woodridge Park District Community Center or Woodridge Park District Athletic Center.
Beginner Diving Lessons
Beginning divers will learn voluntary dives (front dive, back dive, reverse dive, inward dive and front dive half twist) as well as proper approach, hurdle and entry. Beginner class prerequisite: child must be able to enter the water head first from the board and must be able to competently swim.
Advanced Diving Lessons
Advanced divers will learn optional dives such as a somersault and a 1 ½ somersault, while perfecting voluntary dives learned in the beginner class. Advanced class prerequisite: participants must be able to successfully perform a front and back dive, must be willing to try new techniques and must be able to competently swim.

Registration can be taken at the Woodridge Park District Community Center, 2600 Center Drive, or the ARC, 8201 S. Janes Avenue. Online, fax or mail-in/drop-off registration is also available. For more information, call (630) 353-3300.
Finding the Location of Your Lesson
Swim lessons are color-coded to help participants find the location of their lessons with ease. Make note of the color associated with your registered class. Lesson Coordinators will be wearing polo shirts with the matching colors so you can easily identify and locate them on the pool deck.
At the end of each session two days are scheduled as rain days. Rain days are only used if a lesson was cancelled by the Lesson Coordinator. Only two rain days are possible for each session and they will occur RAIN or SHINE. Safety skills and lessons will occur on inclement rain days. There are no make-ups for sickness or vacation.
